The verification and testing of software is constantly gaining in importance, and the stakes in safety-critical areas such as medicine and aviation are high. Therefore software testing experts from Luxembourg have come together in the Luxembourg Testing Board (LTB) to develop and define standardized contents for training in software testing. The LTB is part of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB). The LTB and the ISTQB are both internationally recognized, independent and non-profit organizations.
The Luxembourg Testing Board has started its activities in January 2009 and was created by participants from LIST (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, previously CRP Henri Tudor), UBS, CTG and Eureka-ITS.
Its goal is to:
- Develop a network dedicated to testing and quality and promote the evolution and enhancements of these topics in the field of IT;
- Define and promote standardized content for software testing trainings in Luxembourg according the international "ISTQB Certified Tester" qualification scheme.
